This ancient kneeling figure was collected in New Guinea in the mid 20thC and would predate this collection date considerably. Made from a light weight wood the piece has a finely adzed surface and old nail repairs to the arms that were broken off long ago. It has Pert Collection number 0039 written twice to the underside of the base. It measures 34cm in length.
