Biwat War Shield Yuat River Papua New Guinea mid 20thC

A great old Biwat War Shield collected in the Yuat River in the mid 20thC. The shield is in good condition with strong pigments and retaining most of the fibre attachments. It is Number 12 in the Jack and Isabel Pert Collection which was put together between the 1950's 1970's. I have included a photo of their notes which gives the collection details. It measures 167cm x 28cm.
