It only serves to hint at it's "story", as it was. It would strange if it didn't have any signs of use and age. This is easily a pre-1960's mask and very possibly, much older. The whale or fish effigy at the top of the mask is quite unusual.I could not find another example of that animal anywhere on the crest of a spirit mask anywhere, in my online research. Eyes are mesmerizing (hinting of a sort of hypnotic state) and the mask displays so stunningly, I'm certain it will evoke greatness in whatever environment it continues to grace, hereafter.
