This listing is for a Vintage Papua New Guinea Story Board hand Carved Wood Panel made by Master Carver Kipa Gaindimi. Gaindimi is particularly renowned for his carvings on bark. His deeply sculptural storyboards continue to evolve, often relating to daily life in the village, such as the harvest and preparation of sago. His works also play an important role in reinforcing the culture by maintaining a visual presence of mythical heroes and stories of creation. He also carves very fine model canoes and the traditional ancestral figures from Kambot village featuring mothers and children.

His work is found in international collections in Australia, Canada and the United States. Public Collections: William Woods University, St. Storyboard of heroic proportions: twelve feet x six feet, permanent installation in the performing arts centre. Museum of Anthropology, Vancouver, B. Canada, unique circular storyboard acquired in 2006.
