Twin Jade Celts - Lake Sentani, Papua. This remarkable offering consists of two finely crafted jade celts originating from the Lake Sentani region in West Papua.
Acquired as a matched pair, the celts were described as "twins" by the original owners-suggesting not only physical similarity but also a shared cultural or ceremonial purpose. The symmetry, finish, and proportional harmony between the two strongly indicate they were produced together, likely as a symbolic or ritual set. Dating: Estimated to the 18th century, based on stylistic features, tool marks, and provenance. Acquired in 1994 in Hobong village. Since collection we kept it in our personal collection. We will pack it securely.
