African or Papua New Guinea hand made musical instrument

The owner had passed but I was told that they traveled extensively and would visit with these different tribes and bring back something in their journeys. This is a guitar like instrument it measures 22 inches long and 9 inches wide at the base.

This is all handmade its body looks like it's a gourd and the arm and body are nicely wrapped in leather head to toe with the top having some sort of hair from an animal.
