A Tami or Siassi Island, Huon Gulf Feast Bowl Carved from Kwila Wood of Classical Style Carved with Raised and Incised Imagery in Stylized Forms. 22 inches (56 cm) long x 9 1/2 inches (24.2 cm) wide x 3 1/4 inches (8.3 cm) deep. Condition: Very Good: Light Wear. Description: This very attractive Huon Gulf item was most likely created for the Kula trade system. Although bowls of this type were used on Tami Island for festivals, it was mostly likely traded for other goods needed on these islands.

This bowl was from a San Francisco Bay Area estate with no collection history. This item is guaranteed to be authentic and in the condition described.
