Ancient Yipwon Hunting Charm Amulet Karawari River East Sepik Papua New Guinea

Carried in mens bilums as amulets used in hunting and raids this small wooden yipwon charm comes from the Karawari River in the East Sepik River of New Guinea and was part of the Jack and Isabel Pert Collection which was put together between the 1950's 1970's. The figure has a nice form and the surface is eroded. It measures 23.5cm in height.
