A magnificently crafted hardwood statue that shows intricate carvings all over this deity. It was once a colourful statue where natives would use local flora & fauna including crushed berries & shells to create the colour needed depending on the location of the village. There is also clayish mud used that looks to be inserted into the deity's carvings that reminisce tattoos from head to base. Recognised as a strong female deity which male tribesmen would place in strategic positions around there village to ward off unwanted spiritual enemies.

The statue shows its age with patinated residue that has solidified bringing a beautiful deep colour to this piece. Using a light one can virtually recognise each colour that once made this piece a very unique & vibrant part of Papua New Guinea native culture.
