Here is a very interesting artifact from the island of New Guinea - a statue or figure of a man, standing and holding what looks to be a stylized hunting trophy. All hand carved from a single piece of native tropical wood, with a dark, near-black finish. Characteristic slender form, note the nose piercing. Papua New Guinean, from the tribes of the Huon Gulf/Sepik River Basin.
