Antique Vintage Papua New Guinea Sepik River Komongowi Bat Totem Sculpture

This is an unusual and rare artisan made vintage antique Post 1960 reproduction Papua New Guinea Sepik River Komongowi bat totem sculpture in very good condition. There is one chip to the wing tip but the piece is in tact and fits perfectly to be repaired by you.

Please see photos of the chip and chip replaced to see how perfectly the chip fits to be repaired. There might also be some slight shaving to the snout of the bat or it could just be faded paint and from my point of view does not detract from the beauty of the piece in any way. There are original small eye hooks in back for hanging but the hanger needs to be replaced.

It is really quite stunning and a rare open free form sculpture. Perfect for a Boho/Retro household on Halloween and an excellent collectible. Approximate measurements: 28 inches across wingspan, 19 inches from top of head to feet, 4 inches at deepest from tip of nose to back of head.
