Crocodile Canoe Prow Papua New Guinea Fine Hand Carved Sepik River Large 16 inches 70 Years Old. Hand carved by the Sortmeri Jungle Tribe of Papua New Guinea from the front of a dug out canoe. The tribes of the New Guinea Jungle revere the crocodile and as such carve them on the front of their dugout canoes. This was sawn off from one such canoe.

Acquired in Cairns, Queensland Australia in November 1987. Brought there by a missionary who acquired a few items. Believed to be about 70 years old.
