Collected in the Papuan Gulf by Rudi Caesar an Abstract & Landscape painter who was based in Papua New Guinea for over thirty years. This large gope board has been part of Jack and Isabel Pert's Collection until recently. Their collection was put together in mid 1950's up until the late 1970's.
This board was carved from the side of a worn out canoe and has a an ancestral face engraved and decorated with earth pigments. It measures 123.5cm x 26cm.
