A mask board of exceptional sculptural quality from Papua New Guinea, dating back to the mid-20th century. The object was most likely not made for ritual use, however it is a decorative mask of outstanding quality made around the 1950s/60s. It is made of mid density wood, colored with pigments and two inset cowries used as eyes. The height of the mask is 60 cm or approx.
