A superb piece of PNG tribal art , this'food hook' measures approx 82cm long x 22 cm wide at the arms. The carved wood piece has both practical and ceremonial significance and would have been used to hang food and baskets from the rafters by the bottom hooks. Very beautifully painted female figure with a grass skirt.
