Very interesting collection of Catholic ephemera regarding the Noblet Convent of Waigani, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea from 1973. The stapled newsletter is 10 pages long and is signed off by Mother Genevieve and describes the work of the Handmaids of Noblet Convent. It talks about Nazareth, the Mother-House in Port Moresby, and highlights Sister's work in other places around PNG including Goroka, Kubuna and Kerau. Also talks about the impending Independence of PNG and a meeting of indigenous sisters held at Suva which attracted the following groups: - The Daughters of Mary of New Caledonia. The Sisters of Our Lady Nazareth of Fiji.
The Daughters of Mary Immaculate of Solomon Islands. The Sisters of Nazareth of Bougainville, and. The Handmaids of Our Lord of Port Moresby. Mother Genevieve makes special mention of Maria Von Trapp of the famous Trapp Family who spent two years with them as a lay-missionary. The paper flyer poster has photos of the Sisters and their different roles in Papua New Guinea.
It makes special mention of founder Archbishop Alain de Boismenu, Mother Marie-Therese Noblet and Mother Solange.
