Bois dense et restes de polychromies. Big "Nogwi" statue collected from the Nokuma ethnic group in Papua New Guinea. The Nogwi, symbol of fertility, intervenes during the third yam ceremony celebrating its harvest and symbolizes the birth of this sacred tuber. It aims to satisfy the ancestors to obtain a future good harvest.
This third and last ceremony is reserved for initiates. Hard wood and remains of polychrome.
