This product is an authentic vintage ceremonial wood carved female statue from the Sepik River region of Papua New Guinea. This product is a museum-quality Papua New Guinea Ancestor Female Figure made by the Papuan New Guinea Tribe in the mid-1900s. The figure stands 21 inches in height and is made of wood with expresso and brown coloring. It is an original piece and showcases the culture of the Pacific Islands & Oceania.
This item along with others were collected from private collector of antiques. This statue was part of items collected documenting the Latmul people.It depicted a woman who survived a stone axe wound to the head. There is some possible wear and tear and chips missing which are shown if present.
