This is a simple beautifully tightly woven Belt made from using hand woven Bush Fiber from the Sepik Region of Papua New Guinea. The "bush" rope used to weave the belt is made from 100% natural fiber using the traditional technique of hand rolling plant fibers into twine over the knee. The process is carried out by women who then weave them into a variety or bilums or belts. This is a man's dance belt used in ceremonies and special occasions.
This is a unique and beautiful fiber belt that would be lovely addition to your collection.
