This is a Vintage and Very Unique Fish Bone Fishing Hook from the Siassi Island, Huon Gulf, Papua New Guinea. This finishing hook is carved from a fish jaw bone. The hook is attached to the bone with natural fiber. The hook is carved to a point with serrated edges near the top. The humble fish hook derives its form from its function: to catch fish.
