This is a Rare and Old Papua New Guinea Melpa Men's Looped-String Net Skirt worn at Sing Sings and on Ceremonial Occasions. Worn at the Mount Hagen Sing Sing. Each Skirt is woven by its owner and can be left in its natural fiber color or dye it in a variety of colors with sometimes usual materials used, such as cuscus fur or other animal fur.
The skirts are worn with the elaborate bird of prey and feather headdresses. On occasion, women may wear it as well. This is a museum piece and would compliment or home or collection.
