Noken orchids are called "Noken Anggrek" which are the bags are handmade by the ethnic Papuan mothers. The bag design is truly unique and different from other Noken. This bag does look elegant from the others. The raw materials of the orchid Noken are very rare, and it must be found in the interior of Papua's forests which are difficult to find.

The beautiful Noken is made from very beautiful forest orchid plant fibers, especially from the bark, stems, some even from dried flowers, and no two are alike. Throughout New Guinea and West Papua string bags are essential companions to men, women, and children, protection, and fertility. These bags are used by both men and women and are made in many different sizes. Some bags have ceremonial significance and may symbolize a person in mourning or a person who is coming of age.
