Papua New Guinea Ramu River Hunters Charm 18 w/mount. A highly stylized carved wooden effigy from the Ramu River in the Madang Province of New Guinea. Small figures like this one were kept in bilum bags and used by men during hunting and for magic purposes also as a protective talisman. The figure measures 18 inches tall on base.
