A charming, hand-crafted wooden sculpture of a woman with subtle patterns / motifs and adorned in a short skirt (traditional'grass' doba) from the Trobriand Islands. Trobrianders are known to be fiercely proud of the beauty and skill demonstrated in the bodies and the traditional finery of dancers and the carving attempts to capture this figurative essence. The piece is approximately 24cm in height, weighing 155 gms. The object is in excellent vintage condition displaying very few signs of age-related wood wear (as photographed). All items will be packaged with care and I will ensure it is suitable for transit.
