RARE 39 Papua New Guinea Asmat Tribe Wood Carved Bis Pole Sculpture Statue

Featuring an extremely RARE and very large 39 Papua New Guinea Asmat Tribe Wood Carved Bis Pole Sculpture Statue. It has dark brown wood tone with three tiers of ancestors with white patterned paint decorated on the edges and facial features. These poles are central to the Asmat culture, serving as a way to honor deceased individuals, especially those lost in headhunting raids, and to appease their spirits. They are not just artistic creations but also powerful ritual objects that play a vital role in ceremonies aimed at bringing balance and harmony to the community. This is a huge piece that commands attention in any room.

It is solid now and hard to notice the previous cracks. Minor cracking is in some areas is still visible but it is solid and strong. It stands balanced on a flat surface but could use some additional leveling or be jointed to a base. 8 LBs 6 oz Weight before packaging.
