Arme de défense utilisée pendant des guerres tribales lors des combats rapprochés. Dague en fémur de casoar montée sur un manche en bois et décorée d'une tête tressée en vannerie (osier).

Vendue avec un socle de présentation. De combat en os (fémur de casoar) présentant une belle patine d'usage.

Collectée dans le village de Maprik en Papouasie Nouvelle Guinée. Motifs gravés de dessins tribaux complexes typiques de l'ethnie Abelam. Représentation d'un oiseau casoar en partie haute.

Defensive weapon used during tribal wars in close combat. Casoar femur dagger mounted on a wooden handle and decorated with a woven wicker head. Dagger (cassowary femur) with a beautiful patina of use. Collected in the village of Maprik in Papua New Guinea. Patterns engraved with intricate tribal designs typical of the Abelam ethnic group.
