Vintage Hand Carved Wooden Papua New Guinea / African Seated Figure on Stool

This listing is for a Vintage Hand Carved Wooden, what was identified as a vintage Papua New Guinea Figure by its previous owner, and what I think is an African Seated Figure on Stool. I have spent much time trying to identify / confirm origin to no avail, although it is one or the other and at that a pretty unique one. Carved out of one piece of wood and most probably painted black. Very well carved and unique piece. If you have additional information about this item, please let me know.

6 inches tall, 2 3/8 inches widest, 3 1/8 inches deepest, 195 grams overall net weight. In excellent as shown condition with minor wear. Images are continuous and have an order front, back, sides, etc.. And should be viewed in continuous fashion. There are a total of 13 images of this item posted within the body of this listing.
