Vintage Massim Hand-Carved Wooden Pig / Boar - Papua New Guinea Tribal Art. Up for sale is an authentic vintage Massim hand-carved wooden pig from Papua New Guinea (Trobriand Islands region). Carved from dense dark hardwood, this traditional piece features classic Massim-style incised geometric scrollwork with white lime inlay along the body and snout. Cultural Origin: Massim Culture, Papua New Guinea.

Craftsmanship: Hand-carved with traditional zigzag and chevron bands, lime-filled for high-contrast visual detail. Dimensions: Measures approximately 10 inches long by 2.5 inches wide and 2.5-3 inches tall.

Authentic pre-owned vintage tribal condition with a rich patina. Tail Condition (See Close-Up Photos): The carved loop tail has an older re-glue repair across the lower loop, as well as an exposed chip along the wood grain on the upper edge. Left Rear Leg: Carved slightly shorter than the front legs from the original artisan process and does not sit completely flush on flat surfaces (see photos).
