A vintage wooden headrest from the Pacific Islands, hand crafted from a single piece of wood. Headrests from the region vary widely in their function and design and this particular piece from the Huon Gulf portrays a central flexed figure. The representation of a single, powerful ancestral figure is particularly rare within the corpus of Pacific headrests. The object is approximately 20cm in height, 23cm in length and 6cm in width, weighing 1.35 kilos.

The carving is in good vintage condition showing very minor signs of wear commensurate with age (as photographed). All items will be packaged with care and I will ensure it is suitable for transit.
