Vintage Papua New Guinea Sepik River Mask Wood Woven Rattan Feathers Tribal Art

Up for sale is a beautiful mid-to-late 20th-century hand-carved ancestral spirit mask from the Sepik River region of Papua New Guinea. Features an authentic, intricately hand-woven rattan backing trimmed with natural feathers and fibers. Sepik River, Papua New Guinea. Hand-carved wood, woven cane/rattan, natural fibers, and bird feathers.

Approximately 12.5" to 13" Long x 5.5" to 6" Wide (Please refer to listing photos for exact tape measure placement). Pre-owned, authentic tribal art piece in good vintage condition. The carved wooden face and the woven structure are solid and intact. There is some minor, expected surface dust in the crevices and light age-related drying/splitting near the top and bottom structural attachment points (visible in close-up photos). The natural feather trim shows some light shedding and sparseness due to age.
