This was selected from the collection of Jean-Jacque Laurent in Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia in the mid-1970's. His thoughts were that it was from the Sepic Tribe. He had gotten it in the 60's but felt it was created in the 1950's. It would have originally had shark skin on both end but that was gone when I bought it.
Other than brushing dust off, it has not been cleaned and was in the fine condition when I bought it, that it still is in today. 17" long and about 4" at the end/openings. I no longer live there. Better now to allow someone else to enjoy the beauty of this fine example of Pacific Island craft.
